Rice field Ubud

Bali is such a touristic island, reason why sometimes it’s difficult to find places where to try traditional balinese or indonesian food. The best you can do is to be brave and head to a warung, where you will be able to enjoy traditional food and local ambient.

But, what is a warung?

Warung means, in Indonesian, a family-run business, usually a restaurant. ¡Warungs are a MUST!

We visited Bali with the idea of enjoying its renowned great food and ambience. With that purpose, since the very first moment we started going to these kind of restaurants. ¡It was such a good decision! The food we tried was delicious, we met local people, and moreover, the price was cheap (that was perfect for us as we had a small budget for this trip).

¿Can you guess how much we paid?

0,65 euros a dish. Great, isn’t it?

During our stay in Ubud, we almost always had lunch and dinner at the warungs located at Sukma Kesuma.

In those places don’t often offer dessert, but in that street you can also find little stores where they sell traditional pastries and muffins.

Here you can see some pictures of what we had:

I hope that after you have seen these photos of these delicious meals y get out there and try the typical Balinese and Indonesian dishes.

If you have already tried them, what are your thoughts? Would you recommend them like I have?
